Husband keeps wife in chains for 10 years

A man tortured his wife and kept her in chains for a decade, treating her as his slave, US authorities say.
 
A criminal complaint stated the woman, 43, was burned on her back and breasts with irons and frying pans, and her foot was smashed under farm equipment. She also allegedly delivered a stillborn child while in chains. Another infant survived.
 
Peter Lizon, 37, is in a West Virginia jail on $US300,000 ($295,000) bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on a malicious wounding charge on Friday.
 
Jackson County Chief Deputy Tony Boggs said the victim had endured more torture than virtually any domestic violence victim he had ever seen.

On June 18, the woman managed to escape from ther husband's clutches when she, the suspect and their infant were returning a rented farming machine. The woman walked away from the family, the criminal complaint said.

She hid from her husband at a nearby zomba dance facility before going to a family crisis center, reports Fox News.

The channel also reported that the woman spoke to a nursing woman about being treated as a slave and how every time her husband would enter a room, she would have to kneel in front of him, the complaint said, at which point he would stomp on her feet.

Tony J. Boggs, Jackson County’s chief deputy sheriff office, told FoxNews.com that Lizon was arrested without incident on July 5.  Boggs said the case may be challenging because the information was provided by an independent witness and not the alleged victim.

Lizon's lawyer was not immediately available for comment. He told WSAZ-TV the allegations were false.

    Dear Zakir, atleast the US has the guts to report these things, when discovered. What about similar (and worse) things that happen in our countries and go totally unreported....

    What a " civilized" country. US is champion of socalled "freedom" could not see for 10 year what is going on beneath their nose.
