Kerala in shock: Girl raped by family for 2 yrs

INDIA: A young teenager's ordeal has lasted for more than two years. She has been continuously raped by her father, 15-year-old brother and uncle ever since she turned 11 two years ago. The family hails from the northern Kerala district of Kannur.

The horrific incident came to light when the 8th grader refused to go back home after school was dismissed. When a teacher enquired the reason for doing so, she narrated her gruesome reality, reports The Times of India.

The school administration immediately helped her file a police complaint. The three rapists were arrested for raping the child ever since she was in sixth grade.

Meanwhile, the Kerala vanitha commission chairperson, K Rosakutty told PTI that the incident was an 'insult' to Kerala's conscience.

The victim told the police that her elder sister had committed suicide two years ago as she too had been raped by the trio.

Rosakutty claimed that the case would require further probe as the lives of two sisters had been ruined.
