Kerala school sex racket: Minor girls raped

Published

A teenager’s complaint exposes a sex racket in a Higher Secondary School in Kerala.

The 16-year-old lodged a complaint alleging that a nine-member gang, including a woman, has been sexually exploiting her and several of her schoolmates for the last two years.

The woman was arrested on Saturday on charges of enticing minor girls and helping the gang members.

According to a report in ToI, a Grade 10 student committed suicide after the same racketeers raped her and threatened to expose her nude pictures.

Meanwhile, state human rights commission has urged police to conduct a detailed investigation into the death of the 14-year-old.

The Hindu reported that the commission was contacted by local people and women’s organisation representatives who complained about the laxity on part of the police to probe the case.

They even alleged that cops were trying to protect the culprits.

Holy men’s earthen pot act…

Two holy men have been held on charges of duping unsuspecting people of money and other valuables by promising to solve their issues.

The duo, aged 30 and 43, advertised their services on local TV channels to lure customers, reported DNA.

The incident came to light when a woman, who sought their help, didn’t see any change in her situation after parting with Rs5.5lakh and reported them to police.

They were arrested from another location as they had, in the meantime, fled.

Their modus operandi included calling the victims to a dark room, hypnotizing them and offering animal sacrifices.

To instill fear in the victims, they would take an earthen pot [in which would be hidden sodium metal] and throw it into water, and that would break into flames [due to the chemical reaction].

The duo would convince victims that the pot burst into flames because they were followed by evil spirits and demand money to rid them of the spell.
