A British mother meant good for her baby and tried to force feed her resulting death of the girl.

Gloria Dwomoh, 29, has been sentenced to three years in prison for force-feeding her baby girl, Diamond.

London police say the woman forced food into the 10-month-old. The girl was taken to hospital on March 3, 2010, with breathing difficulties. She died at 4:40 a.m.

Cnews.canoe.ca reports the initial cause of death was inconclusive, but investigators discovered the baby had pneumonia caused by aspiration- meaning she inhaled food into her lungs.

The trial focused on the danger of inappropriate feeding of a young baby and the importance of seeking advice and support from health and social services professionals and implementing that advice.
