Thief breaks into house to rape women, steals money

A judge ordered a youth to be remanded till November 21 for entering a house and raping a woman, who was asleep and also for drawing Rs255,000 through two credit cards that he stole from another woman’s handbag, “Lankadeepa” reported.

Police told court that the suspect was identified through CCTV cameras located in the banks.

In a separate report filed by the police at the magistrate courts, it stated that the suspect had entered another house where a woman, who was asleep, was raped and Rs8,000 were stolen from her handbag.

The magistrate ordered the suspect be produced for an identification parade on November 21.

A man arrested for sexual abuse, theft & possession of arms

A man, who had entered a house at dawn in Katukurunda, Kalutara in Sri Lanka, about 12 days ago and sexually abused a woman after threatening her, was arrested with a pistol, some bullets and other stolen items, “Lankadeepa” reported.

Police recovered a 9mm pistol, 17 bullets and two empty bullet pouches, two sharp knives, a live bomb, a rubber stamp and a mobile phone in his possession.

Investigations revealed that the woman screamed when the suspect entered the house through the window, but she kept quiet when he threated to kill her with the gun.

Later the suspect raped the woman and left the house after returning some goods he stole from the house.

Police said the suspect was a driver and would be produced before the Kalutara Magistrate Court.

Youth arrested for caressing an underage girl

A Sri Lankan youth, who had entered a house through window during the night and caressed the body of a 12-year-old underage girl, was ordered to be remanded by the Minuwangoda Chief Magistrate DA Ruwan Pathirana, “Lankadeepa” reported.

The suspect, who is living closer to the victim’s house, caressed the girl’s body and she yelled in fear when woke up.

Her parents, sleeping in the adjoining room, rushed to the girl’s room and saw the suspect running away.

The Minuwangoda police, after conducting investigations on a complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, arrested the culprit.
