Drake & Scull wins 4 deals worth Dh168m in Oman

Drake & Scull International (DSI) has announced that its subsidiary Drake & Scull Engineering (DSE) Oman has signed four major MEP contracts worth a total value of Dh168 million.

Under the terms of the first agreement, DSE Oman will provide MEP services for a government facility in Al Ghubrah, Muscat. The company has commenced work on the site, which is scheduled for completion in 2015.

Under the terms of the second agreement, DSE Oman will undertake complete MEP works for a government complex in Nizwa. The project is spread over an area of 36,452 square meters, encompassing residential and essential services facilities. The project is scheduled for completion in 2016.

In addition, DSE Oman will deliver MEP services for a prestigious Leisure and Tourism project. DSE will install essential services for the iconic landmark in Muscat.

DSE Oman will also extend its MEP services for upgrading core MEP systems at a major oil refinery. The company will provide Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services on the major petrochemical development.

Ahmad Al Naser, Managing Director of Drake & Scull Engineering, said: “The four recent project wins for the Drake & Scull Engineering team in Oman is a reflection of our expertise and experience in delivering large scale projects in Oman. These contracts are in line with our strategic growth plans for Oman which is currently experiencing a robust projects market. According to a report by Oxford Business Group, the Omani government will invest Dh205 billion into infrastructure between 2013 and 2017 and a further Dh205 billion into the real estate sector by 2022.”

DSE has undertaken several prestigious projects in Oman, including the Muscat Royal Orchestra, the National Museum of Oman, and the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Currently, the company is delivering MEP services on the New Muscat International Airport and the Duqm Hotel.
