Amana Contracting and Steel Buildings has won a contract to build Dubai Bank's branch in Jumeirah.

The Dh28.63 million turnkey contract involves the construction of the building spread over 6,600 square metres on four levels – basement, ground, mezzanine and first floor. The total land area is 3,000 sq metres.

The building designed by Naga Architects will be ready for handover with the necessary fit-out works by the end of April 2009. Naga is the project consultant.

Mohammed Al Qarout, Amana Special Projects General Manager, said: "Once complete, the bank branch building will boast of the most modern, interactive equipment and security systems required for the bank. The time frame is very crucial and the project is being executed through perfect and stringent planning."

"We have the in-house design capabilities that are continuously fed with site experiences for tailored projects such as these. We have a lot of plans in place aimed at our involvement with projects in the commercial and other sectors, both within the UAE and across the Gulf," he said.

Ali A Al Hashimi, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Bank, said: "We are happy to award this project to Amana, which is famed for its quality, delivery schedules and regional expertise."
