Dubai's Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a new service enabling Toll Gate System users to verify offences reported against their vehicles through viewing the image of offending vehicles at Salik website (www.salik.ae).

The user can check offences made, and even screen the image of the vehicle involved and all related details, in addition to other interactive details on the website.

Maitha bin Adai, CEO of RTA Traffic & Roads Agency, said the service aims to inform Salik users of offences made in connection with their vehicles in a timely manner without any suspicion about the identity of the offending vehicle, particularly with those who have multiple vehicles registered under a single account in the name of a person or an entity.

"Once the user accesses the personal account at Salik portal, he or she can avail all features available at the website. This includes reviewing entries of offences reported in a timely manner, and establishing the identity of the offending vehicle through viewing a high definition image of the vehicle. This service, like other remaining services on offer at the website, enhances the confidence of the public in the system and services offered. It facilitates the transactions of customers through interacting with these interactive features which will boost the confidence in the system performance and win the confidence of these highly informative and knowledgeable users.

"Since the introduction of the system, RTA has been seeking to boost the confidence of customers through providing them with sophisticated services and upgrade the level and method of delivering such services. A complete package of interactive online services is in place for subscribers to the toll gate system (Salik). In addition to the huge data content available it provides to users, the website also enables subscribers the possibility of topping up their accounts through a number of various options. This includes credit cards, e-dirham and direct debit from the bank account in coordination with the e-Government of Dubai.

"Services also include the Interactive Voice Response enabling users to check their account balances, view logs of passing under the toll gates, and process requests for receiving account numbers and pin codes through SMS. All these features are available through contacting Salik-dedicated Call Center at 800-72454 and following voice directions. RTA will continue offering new interactive services to enable system subscribers to deal with them promptly and easily," said Maitha.

She hailed the awareness of subscribers and the importance of the toll gate system in easing their mobility and providing a smooth traffic in the emirate.
