The average price of building materials for April studied by the Statistics Centre of Abu Dhabi said that the price of steel bars from Qatar rose to Dh2,847.5 for 10-32 mm bars in April against Dh1,950 in January. Similarly, price of UAE and Turkish steel bars in the same range rose to Dh2,937.5 and Dh2,983.3 respectively in April against Dh1,965 for both in January (see box). Price of normal readymix fell to Dh270 per cubic metre in April against Dh300 in January, while sulphate resistance concrete readymix went back to Dh275 per cubic metre in April (same as January) against Dh310 in March. Portland cement fell to Dh272.5 per tonne in April.
