Emirates Financial Towers glass works on schedule

Arabian Aluminum Co (part of Al Ghurair Construction Industries), has started installing glass on the façade of the Dh600 million-Emirates Financial Towers, which is located at Dubai International Financial Centre. Construction work has progressed to the 15th floor.

The company started the installation work on the second floor, and will continue to install 5,000 units to cover 26 floors of both towers. Aluminum units were chosen according to the unitised system, with its high thermal and sonic isolation characteristics. Segments of the system were designed specifically to fit the nature and the design of the project and went through the quality checks successfully. The system is the same one used by Arabian Aluminum on the Burj Dubai.

The glass fronts used were designed to deliver precise installation and to ensure high quality standards. Installation work for the entire project is expected to be complete during the first half of 2009, with work progressing on schedule.

Dr Hani Abu Auida, CEO of Emirates Financial Towers Company and Moafaq Al Gaddah Group's (MAG) Primary Vice-Chairman, said: "The beginning of the installation process is a very important move to us. The process involves the highest quality standards, in line with the concept of the project. Secondly, it is progressing on schedule and thirdly, the glass fronts are designed according to Dubai's sustainability standards. Now, with the installation work progressing, the tower begins to take shape."

Bashar Kayali, General Manager of Arabian Aluminum said: "We are very happy with the start of the installation on the towers. This will guarantee our plans for the project are executed smoothly to deliver it adhering to high quality standards and precision."
