No coronavirus case in UAE so far: MoH
The UAE Ministry of Health (MoH) said it has so far not registered any case of coronavirus in the country.
It added that the Epidemiological Investigation Centres in the UAE were working round the clock to detect the virus.
The (MoH) monitors the situation closely at its health facilities nationwide in cooperation with the competent authorities, noting that the diagnosis of suspected cases is conducted through clinical medical check-up and in accordance with the accredited standards and specifications of the World Health Orgainsation (WHO).
The ministry expresses its readiness to deal with any potential infection of coronavirus through continuous cooperation with the local health authorities and WHO so as to assess extend of virus spread at regional and international levels.
Dr Alaa Alwan, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, in a telephone call, said: "I would like to reiterate what I mentioned over the phone."
He noted that "WHO has not made any recommendation on travel restrictions to any country or area in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Similarly, there are no recommendations on border screening."
