Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the security authorities, has caught two persons who used to inject women with a cosmetic injection with unknown source, reported Emarat Al Youm.

The injections, containing dangerous substances, caused injury to 30 ladies - both UAE citizens and residents – and resulted in deformities and severe health complications.

Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Medical Practices and Licensing, said authorities are searching for a third woman.
Al Amiri pointed out that Dr. Ibrahim Galadari, Professor of Dermatology at the Faculty of Medicine at UAE University, gave the tip off about the three women after the victims approached him.

Dr Galadari said that the three women belonging to Arab and Asian nationalities had never studied medicine.

He added that the impersonators used to come to the UAE every few months and visit their victims in their homes where they subjected them to cosmetic injections. They used to promote themselves via cell phones and SMS.

He said the injection contained banned substances which have grave impact on kidney and liver.

Dr Galadari pointed out that the imposters used to collect Dh800 per injection. Injections were made in wrong parts of the bodies, causing pain and serious health damage in many cases.
