His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will inaugurate the eighth Arab Media Forum at Atlantis Hotel today in the presence of world-renowned media personalities and dignitaries.
The forum is being held on May 11 and 12 under the slogan 'Arab Media: Weathering a Period of Change and Crisis'. It will discuss a host of issues pertinent to the media in the region, especially the challenges that arose due to the global financial crisis.
The forum will be attended by more than 600 media persons from around the world. The speakers include luminaries such as Seymour Hersh, American investigative journalist; Hu Shuli, Chinese journalist and editor of Caijing; Stephen Hall, CEO, CNBC Arabia; and Mohammed Ariff, Executive Director, Malaysian Institute for Economic Research.
