Mohammed tours Central Region, Al Ain

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, on his field tour to Al Ain and the Central Region yesterday, was accompanied by Minister of Public Works Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Education Humaid Mohammed Obeid Al Qattami, Minister of Health Dr Hanif Hassan and Commander General of Dubai Police Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim.

Ahmad Al Shaikh, Media Escort to Sheikh Mohammed and Director-General of Dubai Media Incorporated was also present.

Sheikh Mohammed inspected the educational, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture and housing projects across the region.

The education officials, principals and pupils of various schools received him.

The Dubai-Fujairah highway, which Sheikh Mohammed inspected, is to be completed by the second half of 2011. It will reduce the travel time between Dubai and Fujairah by 40 minutes.

During his visit to the offices of the Ministry of Environment and Water in the central region, Sheikh Mohammed inspected a number of models of seedlings ready for distribution among the farmers. The newly developed seedlings are expected to consume less water for irrigation. Sheikh Mohammed lauded the efforts and researches behind these new breeds of seedlings.
