Mohammed attends curriculum meeting

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, briefly attended the Council of Ministers' follow-up meeting on the National Curriculum Committee.

Sheikh Mohammed discussed, in the presence of Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the steps that the committee has taken to follow up on the inclusion of the topic, 'Emirates Vision 2021', in the national school curriculum in the subjects of Arabic language, Islamic Studies and National Studies.

Sheikh Mohammed stressed the importance of this national document which aims to inculcate genuine national values and concepts in the hearts of tomorrow's generation, and establish a culture of innovation and competitiveness. He insisted that teaching this national document was a national duty.

The meeting was attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs; Humaid Mohamed Obeid Al Qattami, Minister of Education; and Abdul Rahman Mohammed Nassir Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development.

Committee members Ahmed Mohammad Al Himyari, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and Najla Al Awar, Secretary-General of the Cabinet Affairs Ministry too were present. The committee also included Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
