Regulations on food products approved

The cabinet, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed, approved the establishment of UAE foreign embassies in Kenya and Uganda. (WAM)

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired a cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in the capital city yesterday.

Also attending the meeting were Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

After approving the establishment of UAE foreign embassies in Kenya and Uganda, the cabinet sanctioned the restructuring of the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare and the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments (Awqaf). The council of ministers also approved regulations pertaining to food products. The cabinet ratified an agreement with Turkmenistan and one with Kazakhstan on visas.

Other agreements with Greece and Turkmenistan regarding air transport services were also approved.

The cabinet approved the appointment of a number of representatives to bodies within the Gulf Co-operation Council.
