Rulers mourn passing away of Sheikh Ahmed

The President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, yesterday mourned the death of his brother Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan who passed away following a glider crash in Morocco last Friday.

The court of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is also mourning the passing away of Sheikh Ahmed.

The Dubai Ruler's Court declared three official days of mourning in the emirate beginning today, during which flags will be flown half mast at government agencies.

A message of condolence prayed to Almighty God to grant the deceased eternal peace and salvation.

Rulers of the other emirates also mourned the death of Sheikh Ahmed yesterday.

They condoled with Sheikh Khalifa, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, their brothers and the Al Nahyan family. A three-day mourning was declared in all the emirates as of today while flags will fly at half mast. Statements of mourning and condolence were issued by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah; His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman; His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain; His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah; His Highness Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
