Strategic food reserve plan reviewed

The Ministerial Council for Services reviewed in its regular meeting held yesterday a plan proposed by the Ministry of Economy on strategic food reserve.

The plan seeks to raise the level of national preparedness to manage any food shortage in times of emergencies and crises and stabilise prices in local market.

Held under the chairmanship of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the meeting approved recommendations put forward by the Federal National Council on the policies of the Ministry of Justice and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.

The council also examined a study by the Ministry of Justice on upgrading the notary public system.

A report by the Zakat Fund on zakat distribution mechanism was also discussed.

The council reviewed a number of topics on its agenda and took appropriate actions on them.
