Al Jazeera Sport has bagged the exclusive rights to telecast the FIFA 2010 World Cup from South Africa to the Arab world, reports Qatar Tribune.

Nasser Ghanim Al Khelaifi, the general manager of Aljazeera Sport Channel, announced during a press conference that Al Jazeera has allocated five channels, including an English one, to cover the World Cup starting on June 11.

In order to subscribe the bouquet of five channels, existing subscribers of Al Jazeera Sport will have to purchase a card worth $100, said the paper.

New subscribers of the basic bouquet and the World Cup channels for six months will have to shell out $130.

A fresh subscription of the same for one year will cost $175. The rates are uniform through out the GCC.

Al Jazeera Sport has earmarked 350 staffs for one thousand hours of 2010 World Cup.

Algeria, by virtue of being the only Arab team to have qualified for the World Cup Finals, will be granted special coverage, reports the paper.

A team of journalists from Al Jazeera Sport will be allocated to follow up Algeria's preparations.

The subscription cards will be available in the market from May 12, reports the daily.
