Chelsea do not need Fernando Torres to be firing on all cylinders.

The Blues boast a Barcelona-type Messi-Xavi-Iniesta trio that operate in such an attack mode that a lung-bursting counter attack for the second goal against Norwich on Saturday was breathtaking for its beauty.

Juan Mata, Oscar and Eden Hazard are clearly the new Messi-Xavi-Iniesta and in the manner that those three rendered strikers almost superfluous, Roberto Di Matteo need not worry about Torres fluffing chance, as he did early in yesterday’s game.

Instead he may just buy a new one.

Radamel Falcao has clearly stated he will be a Barclays Premier League player come January.

Falcao is being closely watched by all across the world and no less than former England and current Russia national coach Fabio Capello singled Falcao out for praise.

Chelsea seem to thrive on a striker with a Drogba-like presence and Falcao promises to provide that.

The question is if this red-hot striker will be at Chelsea or at Manchester City.

Early suggestions were that Falcao would rather be at Chelsea, but City certainly have the money power to tempt him away.

If that does happen, it leaves Neymar as the other red-hot striker up for grabs.

Despite Neymar showing reluctance to leave Brazil before the World Cup, Neymar may be just the extra edge Chelsea need.

British press reports claimed Oscar has already put in a good word for Chelsea with Neymar.

This then raises the question about Fernando Torres’ future.

The striker has had a long rope at Stamford Bridge and if he does not fire as expected, he may well be on his way… to the bench if not to another club.
