Sounds like Katy Perry is Branded for life. Or until divorce does her part from comedian British comedian Russell Brand, whom she says she has already married.
Talking to BBC chat show host Graham Norton, the California gurls singer said: “Life’s never dull with him (Brand), that’s why I married him.” However, she quickly backtracked as the audience gasped, saying: “That's why I'm marrying him!”
The 25-year-old refused to say anything more on the subject, or to clarify her romantic status. Earlier in the show, she had called Brand's mother Barbara her “mother-in-law”.
Despite his reputation as a womaniser, Brand has said he knew he wanted to be with Perry from almost the moment he met her. And it helps that she gets on well with his mother, charming her by helping out at her Essex home. "I remember the first time she came round and my mum was making some dinner. Mum's clumsy like I am and she spilled some gravy," the Daily Mirror quotes him as saying. "I remember just watching how Katy very naturally went and got a cloth, got down and started cleaning the floor without saying anything. And I thought, 'Ah, I like that about you. I want to marry you.'"
