SportAccord convention attracts global brands

The SportAccord International Convention to be held in the Middle East for first time at the Atlantis Palm Jumeirah, from April 25 to 30, is the world's top sports networking event that brings the leaders of international sport together.
This year's topics range from 'The Autonomy of Sport' and 'Making Sport Sponsorships Work Over the Long-Term', to 'Sport's Role as a Leader in Sustainable Development' and 'Sport in the Middle East'.
Spearheaded by Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; President of the Dubai Organising Committee for 2010 SportAccord Convention, President of the International Equestrian Federation, and Member of the International Olympic Committee, the event is hosted by Dubai Sports Council.
This year's SportAccord Convention will unite representatives of global sports sponsors such as adidas, Audi, Swiss Timing, Emirates airline as well as the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award, Dubai Media Incorporated, Roads and Transport Authority, and Dubai Sports City.
The event has also attracted high-profile speakers such as former UN secretary-general Kofi Annan and Fifa President Joseph Blatter among others.
