RTA to introduce new bus routes from July 1

Several routes have been expanded to service new areas.

The Public Transport Agency, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said yesterday it will launch a new bus route in Dubai on July 1, besides broadening and merging other routes.

The new route was decided on following elaborate studies and extensive site surveys carried out by the RTA's work teams to assess the daily requirements of bus commuters in Dubai, said Mohammed Abu Baker Al Hashemi, Acting CEO, Public Transport Agency.

"The new line (X13) starts from Al Awir Bus Depot (A) using standard buses and passes through several locations including Al Qusais Bus Station (3), Workers Accommodation (12 2) at Al Qusais, Metro Taxi Company, Deira Fish Market, Sahara Center, Al Ghubaiba Bus Station (2), Satwa Bus Station (2), Hamriya Port and other districts in Dubai," Al Hashemi said.

"Journey time will be improved on several routes, namely: 4, 7, 10, 13, 13A, 13B, 22, 27, 31, 42, 44, 47, 48, 61, 61D, 63E, 66, 67, 365, C14, C18C26, X23, F15, F25A and F46."
