'Rock On' sequel to rock the audience again

Ripped denims, long and ruffled hair and a guitar seems to be the flavour of the season. So how can the original 'Rock On' boys of the sliver-screen be left behind.

The trio, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli, are making a comeback with the sequel of their 2008 blockbuster Rock On!

According to filmy grapevine Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal were all kicked about the sequel way back in 2008 right after the success of the movie. However, director Abhishek Kapoor had his reservations back then.

But finally it seems Kapoor has given in. Sources tell us that the script is ready and so are the casts for Rock On 2. Prachi Desai and Shahana Goswami are also predicted to be an integral part of the film.

Whether the cast is ready or not we are ready for the next rocking experience.

'Bajirao Mastani' might be revived

 Sanjay Leela Bhansali (SUPPLIED)

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's love for 'Bajirao Mastani' seems to have resurrected.

He refuses to give up on his magnum opus, which hit a roadblock when the then couple Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai split. The two estranged stars were his original choice to play the legendary lovers.

Bhansali has once again revived the project which is based on the epic love story of the renowned Maratha general Peshwa Bajirao and his half-Muslim second wife Mastani.

Sources say Bhansali had started working on it before Saawariya and Guzaarish and won't breathe easy till the project sees the light of the day.

In 2005 he even considered making the film with Salman and Kareena but dropped the idea because both actors had signed another film.

However, he refuses to give up. But making the film will be a daunting task now. Arranging finance won't be easy after two consecutive flops.

And he may not be able to rope in Salman given the strained relationship between the two of late.

Shah Rukh Khan (SUPPLIED)

The superstar says he does films to make his parent proud and this target makes him invincible in the industry. "I wanted to make movies so big that my parents can see my success from above. No one can compete with me because no one else has this target," said SRK, who was in the capital to launch management guru Arindam Chaudhuri's new book ‘Thorns To Competition’.

Rishi-Ranbir to work together

Rishi Kapoor and son Ranbir Kapoor (SUPPLIED)

You read it here that the Bachchan men and Kapoor father-son duo will feature in Nikhil Advani’s next film. But first father Rishi and son Ranbir will star together in Ayaan Mukerjee’s project.

This will be Rishi and Ranbir’s first ever silver-screen collaboration. And it seems Ayaan Mukerjee has given the father and son the perfect platform in his sequel to 'Wake Up Sid'.

Ranbir always wanted to share screen with his father in a home production. There has been barrage of film offers for the two to star together. But nothing seemed to fit the bill to excite them both until Wake Up Sid sequel happened.

We movie lovers will be waiting with bated breath to see the father-son on-screen chemistry.

Aishwarya honoured with an award

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (AGENCY)

Aishwarya Rai has been bestowed with the Pazhassi Raja Purashkaram Abhinaya Kaala Ratna award.

The award is instituted by the Pazhassi Raja Charitable Trust, which was formed in the memory of freedom fighter Veera Pazhassi Raja.

Previously Lata Mangeshkar and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar have been honoured by this award. Amitabh Bachchan is the only individual who has been conferred from the Hindi film fraternity.
