Actor-producer Ajay Devgn’s big fight with Yash Raj Films (YRF) — over the latter using its dominant market position to give more screen space to 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' (JTHJ) at the cost of Ajay’s 'Son of Sardar' (SOS) — has put Kajol in a spot.

Kajol has been dragged into the entire mess unwillingly. She tried her best to stay away from the controversy by refusing to react on any aspect of the on-going tiff between her husband's production house (ADF) and YRF.

However, when it comes to family, Kajol is not left with much choice. She has decided to throw in her lot behind her husband Ajay.

Ever since the controversy erupted in the wake of Yash Chopra's untimely demise, Kajol had adopted a no-comment stand.

But while in Dubai over the weekend to promote a luxury watch brand at an event, she changed her stance. Kajol was in the emirate along with Gerald Butler.

When asked about the boiling issue she quipped: "I'm supporting 'Son of Sardaar', it is my film, it is my home production."

Kajol has an excellent working relationship with YRF and remains one of the leading actresses of the production house - after all she gave them the biggest hit of their career in the form of 'DDLJ'. She is also a close friend of Shah Rukh Khan who plays the lead in 'JTHJ'.

Her husband Ajay feared that his Kajol might suffer due to his fight with YRF.

Ajay, when was asked by the Hindustan Times if Kajol would attend the grand premiere of 'JTHJ' on November 12, for which all Yash Chopra heroines would be present as a tribute. “I hope she does and I think she would,” he said. “But I don’t know what will happen now — that is, if she is even invited [to the premiere]! So don’t put the ball in my court, she should be invited first.”

So, the question to ask now is: Has Kajol received an invite for the premiere? If she has, will she choose to give the premiere a miss to make her loyalty apparent to Ajay, SRK and YRF?

Will Kajol bear the burnt of a tiff between two production houses?

THE CASE

The Competition Appellate Tribunal refused to stay the screening of 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' produced by Yash Raj Films but issued notices to the production house on Ajay Devgn's plea over alleged abuse of dominant position. Ajay Devgn Films (ADF) had moved the tribunal after the Competition Commission rejected the plea against Yash Raj Films for alleged abuse of dominant positions.

Both Ajay Devgn's 'Son of Sardaar' and 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' are slated to release on November 13 and advanced bookings have already started.
