‘Dirty’ Vidya's new avatar in ‘Ferrari Ki Sawari’

After gyrating to the peppy music of ‘Naak Mukka’ and ‘Ooh la la’ in ‘The Dirty Picture’ and indulging in some pelvic thrusts, Vidya Balan is all set to take it forward with an item song.

The actress will be seen shaking a leg or more in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’.

Vidya will be seen in an ultra-glam avatar in the item song which is in the process of scripting.

Her time in Bollywood may have been short, but even in this limited period, Vidya Balan has already played an array of interesting roles – whether it was the loving mother in ‘Paa’, the beautiful wife with multiple personality disorder in ‘ Bhool Bhulaiya’ or the in grief sister in ‘No One Killed Jessica’, not to mention a RJ in Munna Bhai sequel.

But nothing proved her mettle and power in Bollywood like ‘The Dirty Picture’.

With it, Vidya was tagged as the first ‘Khan’ among actresses and was almost called the hero of 2011.

The one role however that this versatile actress hadn’t done, till date that is, was that of an item girl. But guess Vidya didn’t have to wait for that opportunity to knock her door with Vidhu Vinod Chopra already offering her to do an item song in his next, ‘Ferrari Ki Sawari’.

And while that opens a new challenge for the ‘Paa’ actress, who has readily agreed to do the song for the film, one wonders what an item number will do in a film that’s promoted as a story of a father-son relationship. But then item numbers are a must today and that explains the inclusion.

However, the other side of the story is of course the trick to make popular. Vidhu is well aware that Sharman Joshi, the lead actor, isn’t that big a name to pull the audience alone, but Vidya can.

The song will be shot in next month and meanwhile, Vidya is making herself at ease to get into the sensational avatar. 

Well, let’s see if Vidya will be able to put the silver screen on fire yet again.
