Aamir's ‘Satyamev’ takes on Shah Rukh's KKR, IPL

The big day in the IPL calendar is here - the finals between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings.

There might not be one soul willing to change the TV channel while the match is on, but one man and his show is challenging all that - Aamir Khan and his ‘Satyamev Jayate’.

The show will be telecast as per its scheduled time at 9pm today in the UAE and directly clash with the final of the IPL featuring Kolkara Knight Riders owned by Shah Rukh Khan and Chenna Super Kings, featuring Indian captain M S Dhoni.

After spearheading a revolution of sorts in the Indian television media with his talk show ‘Satyamev Jayate’, which tackles burning social issues, actor Aamir Khan is now gearing up to take on his ‘rival’ Shah Rukh Khan on the TV circuit.

There were talks about how Aamir might skip the show altogether as he didn’t want to share the TRPs with SRK.

However, an official at the Star TV Dubai quashed those rumours and confirmed that the show will go on, with today’s show tackling bribery.

Unlike SRK, who hosted gaming shows on the telly before, Aamir decided to take the path less traveled and focus, instead, on socially relevant issues for his television innings.

Aamir’s show, which kicked off on May 7th, has over the past three Sundays projected issues like female foeticide, dowry, and child abuse.

‘Satyamev Jayate’ is aired every Sunday at 11 am in India and 9 pm in the UAE. It’s dubbed in a host of Indian languages like Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.

Today at 9pm Aamir’s show will go up against SRK’s IPL battle on the cricket pitch. So, will Aamir’s show emerge the winner in this TV tug-of-war? The verdict lies with the viewers of UAE.

Tonight's gonna be a good Knight! KKR should lift the Cup! My heart is with SRK and apart from Indians, I know all Pakistanis are supporting KKR... we will watch Amir later on, not now.
