Aishwarya Rai's comeback in mess; will she return with Abhishek?

The pregnant pause about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's return to silver-screen is more dramatic than the actress' pregnancy, delivery and the much discussed weight gain.

There has been plenty of speculation that Ash is all set to make a comeback opposite husband Abhishek Bachchan and father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan with the film 'Happy Anniversary'. But senior Bachchan says he is oblivious to any such development.

Junior Bachchan revealed that “nothing has been finalised” regarding the much-talked about film.
 
But ad-man Prahlad Kakkar, who has been roped in to direct the movie, and producer Gaurang Doshi says the Bachchans are part of it.

The fans remain as clueless as it can get.
 
The film's producer went on to say that Aishwarya has started working out rigorously to shed the post-partum fat she gained after the birth of their first baby Aaradhya.

The fuss about Aishwarya Rai's return is perplexing.
 
Her last three Bollywood movies 'Raavan', 'Action Replayy', 'Guzaarish', (all in 2010) didn't make a good impression at the box office.

So it's not that she is a box-office bomb waiting to explode.
 
The critics too came down crashing on her for all three movies. Except few besotted ones who found Ash's beauty as the only saving grace in 'Guzaarish'.

She is, no doubt, one of the most beautiful ladies India has seen on screen but her performance always got mixed reviews.

She has remained in the public view throughout her pregnancy and delivery. Notoriously haunted for being 'fat', this adverse publicity grabbed more headlines and sympathizers.
 
Ash is popular, period. But her fan base may not be as strong as it was 3 years back. There are many new, talented and beautiful actresses who have charmed the audience and ruling the roost.

The younger generation has filled-in the gap left vacant by the actress for too long.
 
Yet everyone wants to know when Ash is returning to silver-screen.

Big production houses have reportedly given her scripts to read and she has ditched item numbers, waiting for a bigger fish.
 
Skeptics wonder if she would get the desired roles and hence the delay in the return.

Ash would definitely like to make a re-entry with a bang. That she can do only if she gets to play meaty roles.
 
Aishwarya Rai has to give her audience something extraordinary for them to accept her again.

If Doshi's movie works in her favour than 2014 will really be happy for the Bachchan's with 'Happy New Year' and 'Happy Anniversary'.
