Aishwarya Rai shocks fans @ Cannes; 'Did she kiss a smurf'?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has drawn her style dagger out at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

The L'Oreal brand ambassador is in the 'trying to get bold and adventurous' mood while walking the red carpet.

If you thought the blue dramatic eyes on day one was bold, wait till you see the 'kiss of smurf' look.

On her third day-out Aishwarya paints the French Riviera purple as she pushed her fashion credentials to the limit sporting a bold lilac lipstick called 'Deep Fuchsia'.

Despite opting for classic red carpet glamour with the rest of her attire, the 42-year-old's purple pout hypnotised everyone as it contrasted starkly to her pretty pastel-coloured dress and drew attention to her notoriously luscious lips.

The Bollywood actress, who was attending the 'From The Land Of The Moon' premiere, cut an elegant figure for the evening in an on-trend bardot dress, which swirled around her feet in a pool of luxurious silk.

The floor-length gown was adorned with delicate applique flowers in shades of purple, orange and white and clung to Aishwarya's shapely figure in all the right places.

And the L'Oreal model certainly knew how to make the most of her best features as she laced her eyes with sultry shades of shadow to create a smokey effect that perfectly accentuated her piercing green peepers.

Aishwarya also slicked back her silky raven-coloured locks into a timelessly elegant ponytail and posed for the camera with her hands on her hips and cheekily gazed back over her shoulder.

Her off shoulder Rami Kadi gown was gorgeous but unfortunately it was not the talking point.

Twitter was amused with Aishwarya's lipstick choice, which drew comparisons with Joey Tribbiani’s Lipstick for Men ad from Friends.
