Aishwarya Rai, Sonam, Vidya, Ameesha: Who is wearing what at Cannes?

Indian cinema is going global and winning acclaims the world over. Along with cinema it's Bollywood fashion that has caught the global attention.
 
Today what Bollywood wears at any global platform is followed internationally.

This year Cannes Film Festival is celebrating '100 years of Indian Cinema' and all eyes will be on host of Indian artists and celebrities attending the 11-day cinema carnival.
 
As the beauties represent their country on foreign shores they hope to take the essence of India with them.

Aishwarya Rai @ Cannes:

It is reported that Ash and her team has zeroed down on designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. Ash has decided to ditch designer gowns and go completely Indian at Cannes. She will walk the red carpet on May 24 and 25.

Ash has picked up trademark Abu-Sandeep off-white sari with chikankari work and antique gold embroidery, reports Bollywood Mantra. It has also be decided that Ash will wear a classic beige and cream churidar-kurta. Instead of choosing her usual dark colours, Ash has gone pastel this year.
 

Ameesha Patel @ Cannes:

Ameesha Patel is turning desi at Cannes. She believes that nothing looks better on an Indian woman than a sari or lehenga and she will stick to designer  Manish Malhotra to dress her up. The actress will walk the red carpet in the morning and the premiere of her movie is at night, so there will be two outfits for her. 

Black and white, being classic colours, have been incorporated in her outfit which will be high on Kashmiri and Chikankari work. Manish Malhotra has also kept in mind the summer trends internationally while designing her wardrobe.
 

Vidya Balan @ Cannes:

Actress Vidya Balan is all set to be part of the international competition jury of the 66th Cannes Film Festival this month.

She is one actress who is not too fussy about her wardrobe. The 35-year-old actress will be wearing a sari in a bid to make a fashion statement on the red carpet. Balan has often complimented designer Sabyassachi Mukherjee's creation. In fact Vidya, who got recently married, got her entire wedding ensemble designed by Mukherjee. So it is likely that Balan will once again turn to her favourite designer for her Cannes visit.
 
L'Oreal Paris will commemorate the occasion with 'L'Or Sunset,' a new make-up line. Their three brand ambassadors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Freida Pinto will walk the red carpet on different occasions representing Bollywood in different eras.
 
This year marks Sonam Kapoor's third visit to Cannes. She will be present at the opening ceremony of Festival de Cannes May 15, and she will walk the red carpet May 16 as well.

Sonam will be seen wearing an Indian outfit on at least one occasion. It is also expected that Sonam will sport dramatic eyes and red lips.
 
Based in Hollywood, Freida Pinto has often been seen wearing western outfits. But this year as Pinto represents India it is likely that she will hit the red carpet wearing Indian attire.

Actress Nandita Das is also a part of a separate jury for short films. Ms Das will probably repeat her sari trend although being fully aware that Cannes is full of glitter and glamour.
