Aishwarya, Sonam, start packing; Katrina to stay with Ranbir

There will be more than a touch of Indian beauty pageantry at the 67th Cannes Film festival this year.

Indian filmmaker Kanu Behl's 'Titli' has been chosen for screening in Un Certain Regard section.

Backed by Yash Raj Films (YRF) and produced by Dibakar Banerjee, 'Titli' revolves around the volatile relationship between two brothers - one of whom runs away from home to escape his oppressive family, but turns to a life of crime. The film stars Ranvir Shorey, Amit Sial and newcomer Shashank Arora.

Also to attend this year's glittering opening ceremony will be Uday Chopra.

The 'Dhoom' actor will be present in his capacity as a producer of the festival's opening film 'Grace de Monaco'.

'Grace de Monaco', a biopic of Hollywood star-turned-princess Grace Kelly, features Nicole Kidman in the lead. YRF Entertainment, the Yash Raj Films subsidiary headed by Uday Chopra, is one of six studios credited as producers.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has been a Cannes Film Festival red carpet regular since 2002, will be marking her presence this year too accompanied by huband Abhishek Bachchan for the second time.

The couple will attend an event by 'amfAR', 'Cinema Against AIDS' on May 22. Aishwarya is the brand ambassador of 'amfAR'.

The actress will also walk the red carpet as the face of Loreal.

Indian brand ambassadors for Loreal, Sonam Kapoor and Freida pinto will also grace the red carpet.

But the newest face of the brand Katrina Kaif has declined the invitation to attend the festival.

She has some pressing issues to take care of than attending Cannes.

Ranbir is not only producing 'Jagga Jasoos', but also is the lead actor opposite his lady love.

Katrina Kaif is also shooting nonstop for her next film 'Bang Bang' opposite Hrithik Roshan. She has now called off her debut appearance at Cannes on May 14 as her schedule is jammed between films like 'Bang Bang', 'Jagga Jasoos' and 'Phantom'.

To add to the pressure of work, news has it that Ranbir and Katrina have been looking for a place together.

Apparently, there have been some objections raised by the Kapoor seniors over Katrina's frequent visits to their home.

This is the reason why Ranbir is looking to move out of his parents’ home and shift where he and Katrina would take their relationship forward.

Katrina seems to be completely committed to Ranbir and for the first time in her career, her relationship is her priority.
