Amitabh Bachchan's TV comeback as Aamir Khan exits

The show must go on for Bollywood stars - on the big screen as well as on the small screen.

As one star actor, Aamir Khan, bids adieu to television another megastar, Amitabh Bachchan prepares for his show on prime time.

Big B is coming back with 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC); the reality game show which is in its sixth edition and Bachchan will be hosting it for the 5th time.

Amitabh Bachchan hosted the show when it went on-air in 2000; it marked his debut on small screen.

That also witnessed a deluge of movie stars heading into television.

These days the small screen is as big as the big screen with all the big actors of Hindi cinema on board.

From Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Madhuri, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan to Aamir Khan, it's all the A-list names that emerges.

Aamir Khan has just concluded his social issue based show 'Satyamev Jayate'. The show which marked as his debut on television was hosted, conceived and produced by him. The show has received spectacular response and Aamir may comeback with another season.

Salman Khan began his television stint with a game show called '10 Ka Dum'. After two seasons, he moved on to another reality show 'Bigg Boss'. He replaced Amitabh Bachchan who hosted season 3 of the show. Since season 4 Salman has been the regular fixture and season 6 is now in the pipeline.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan began his acting career with TV serial 'Fauji' and 'Circus'. After many years he returned to TV and replaced Amitabh Bachchan as the host of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' in the 3rd season. Later he also hosted 'Kya Aap Panchavi Paas Se Tez Hai'.

Dancing sensation Hrithik Roshan made his television debut with a dance show called 'Just Dance'. The show became one of the most popular dancing show where Hrithik judged and encouraged younsters along with ace choreographer Farah Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant.

With a million dollar smile Madhuri Dixit began her career on television hosting a reality wedding show 'Kahina Kahi Koi Hai'. The show did not do well. Later Madhuri returned on television to host celebrity dance show, 'Jhalak Dikhla Ja'.

'Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi' marked Akshay Kumar's debut on TV. He hosted seasons 1, 2 and 4. After that he hosted a reality competitive cooking game show, 'MasterChef India'. So who did season 3? Priyanka Chopra. She is the first actress to attempt daring stunts on television.

Many other actors tried their luck on Television as well. Anupam Kher, Kiron Kher, Juhi Chawla, Sonali Bandre, Preity Zinta, Ajay Devgn, Shilpa Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Sushmita Sen, Farhan Akhtar, the list will go on.

Looks like the influx of big movie star into television will also continue. This will only means better content and more entertainment.

Well, now the wait is over for Big B fans as their date with destiny is near - destiny to meet the megastar of Indian cinema; destiny to hit the jackpot.

KBC 2012 is slated to telecast by August end or by September.
