Arpita's wedding: Salim, Salman, Sohail, Arbaaz, Aamir take centrestage

Actor Salman Khan's sister Arpita Khan and businessman-aspiring actor Aayush Sharma were married in Hyderabad's Falaknuma Palace on November 18 according to Punjabi Hindu rituals.

Arpita and Ayush first exchanged rings and garlands as three brothers (Salman, Arbaaz and Sohail) along with parents Salim Khan, mothers Salma and Helen accompanied them on stage. 

The bride and the groom performed wedding rituals ('saat pheras') while both the families stood right beside them.

Arpita can be seen dressed in a heavily embroidered red lehenga and Aayush in white sherwani and sehra.

The blushing bride Arpita Khan wore an Abu-Sandeep wedding trousseau.

The men from the bride's family sported golden Pathani pagdi (head gear). Aamir is also seen wearing the pagri and ready to host the groom's party.

The wedding was held at Falaknuma palace in Hyderabad admist tight security. A host of celebrities including Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Mini Mathur, Varun Dhawan, tennis player Sania Mirza attended the wedding.

Director Kabir Khan and Karan Johar also attended the celebrations and shared couple of pictures on social networking sites.

Post wedding bash saw elder brother Salman Khan and mother Helen perform.

Singers Mika and Yo Yo Honey Singh also livened up the party. News is that Katrina Kaif performed at the grand bash.

Seven folk artists from Rajasthan and many more from Mumbai were specially flown in for the night's party.

The celebrations kicked off with the 'baraat' (groom's arrival) at 4.30 pm (Nov 18) in the heritage hotel located in the old city area.

Father Salim Khan, mother Salma, brothers Arbaaz, Sohail and other family members received the 'baraat'.

It was then followed by the ring and garland exchange and then the 'phere' (hindu wedding ritual).

The wedding cake was made by a renowned Mumbai based bakery owned by Pooja Dhingra.

Every minute detail has been kept in mind while baking this 150 kgs cake by seven member team in a span of 3 days.

Arpita and Ayush will have a reception on November 21 in Mumbai.
