Awkward: When Rekha, Jaya Bachchan came face to face and hugged

Running into your partner's rumoured ex is never easy, more so if you're a Bollywood celebrity who's every move grabs eyeballs.

We have witnessed the frosty greetings when Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif come face to face.

But that's not the case with the cool and calm Jaya Bachchan as she took everyone by surprise when she hugged and sat next to Rekha at the recent Star Screen Awards.

Rekha's affair with Jaya's husband Amitabh Bachchan has long been Bollywood's hottest gossip.

But it seems, these seasoned and dignified actors were more than okay as they sat next to each other at the award ceremony and pretty much had great time.

It was refreshing to see Jaya and Rekha, who are not known to speak very often, socially or otherwise, exchange such pleasantries.

Dressed in silk and diamonds, with gajras to match, the actresses were photographed exchanging pleasantries, no visible sign of their reported one-time rivalry.

Rekha and Amitabh were co-stars in many hit films and their rumoured romance forms a part of Bollywood folklore. The affair reportedly came to an end with 1981's 'Silsila' and Bachchan and Rekha never acknowledged each other in public for 33 years till 2014's Screen Awards where he famously greeted her with a namaste (folded hands).
