Battle of the exes Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber... on stage

Nothing is clear whether they are together or not and no one is giving it away. Both Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez attended the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to attend the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night but did not sit together.

Gomez led the evening with an electrifying performance sultry belly dance routine. Her latest single, "Come And Get It", which is heavy on the Indian theme set the tone for the gala night.

The 20-year-old singer broke into a sensual dance surrounded by a bevy of dancers in a draping gold gown with a metal bodice made especially for her slim figure.

Her performance was just one of many to kick off the celebration of the top artists like Bruno Mars, Christina Aguilera, Macklemore as well as a couple of songs by Justin Bieber.

Several performances after Gomez, it was time Justin Bieber popped-and-locked his way through "Take You."

Bieber started off the night by performing "Take You," a fan favorite from his 2012 album "Believe."

Carrying an aviation theme (a sign reading "Bieber Air" was suspended behind him), the performance found Bieber showing off some breakneck choreography in a leather-heavy outfit before disappearing into a smoky metallic orb.

Bieber treated the audience to another performance, this time as a sidekick to Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am. The pop pair played their recent collaboration "#thatPOWER" amidst billowing smoke and an army of robotic dancers wearing pilgrim hats.

The competing performances were just another battle in the saga between the former couple, who first split last December after a two-year-long romance.

While Justin took home two awards Selena seat in the audience and gave nothing away. Neither showed any signs that they had been reunited.
