Beckhams' gift luxury baby gifts to charity

Victoria and David Beckham were showered with so many gifts for their daughter Harper Seven they decided to give away what they couldn't use - worth thousands of dollars - to charity shops near their Beverly Hills home.

The couple received a plethora of items, including 14 top-of-the-range strollers, from companies hoping to capitalise from the newborn Beckham being pictured with one of their products, The Mail on Sunday reported.

However, the singer-turned-designer and her soccer star husband never accept such perks, the source added.

"Some items have been returned and some have been boxed up and given to charity," the source was quoted as saying. "There are going to be some very lucky families in Los Angeles over the next few weeks who have no idea they are using (items) intended for the Beckhams."

A spokeswoman for the couple said, "We try to discourage companies. However, we do receive a lot of unsolicited goods which are sent to deserving charities."

Harper was born on July 10, joining her brothers Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, six.
