Bhansali helps Ranveer Singh equal Salman Khan's record

Ranveer Singh now has a new record that equals none other than Bollywood biggie Salman Khan. And that is of being cast for the second time in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie.

Salman Khan is the only actor till date who has made three appearances in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films as a hero. The first was in Khamoshi The Musical followed by the epochal Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam as the hero and the third was a much smaller appearance in the Ranbir Kapoor film Saawariya. But then no other actor has played hero in Bhansali’s films more than once. Ranveer now joins Salman in that elite list as he has been cast opposite Deepika Padukone in Bhansali’s film Bajirao Mastani.

Bhansali’s last film Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela saw Ranveer and Deepika play lead roles. The chemistry between both the actors resulted in a box office ki raasleela.

But then for the next film, Deepika has asked Bhasnali to pay her fees of Rs 8 crore if he wants her as the heroine and the filmmaker has agreed, because he consumes around twice or thrice the kind of time other filmmakers do to shoot his movies.

In Bollywood filmmakers have a tendency to repeat pairs that are doing well, because it gives them an edge.

After Ayan Mukerji’s film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani was a resounding success at the box office, Imtiaz Ali is now casting the due together in his next film called Tamasha.

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were first seen in the 2008 film Bachna Ae Haseeno and was followed by Yeh Jawaani…  And now it is Tamasha which was earlier titled as Window seat.

This avante garde film which is a self discovery story will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala who had also produced Highway along with Ali

Apart from Ranveer and Ranbir, Deepika has had a successful chemistry with King Khan Shah Rukh Khan as well. After debuting in the Farah Khan film Om Shanti Om, Deepika also gave a sizzling hit with Khan in the Rohit Shetty film Chennai Express. Ostensibly Farah was keen to cast her yet again and did so in the film Happy New Year.

Even Zoya AKhtar is another filmmaker who would prefer to jump on a running horse.

She has taken the adorable duo of Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh from Band Baja Baraat in her next offering at the box office titled Dil Dhadakne Do.  Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar also play leading roles in the film.

Also reuniting are the Student Of The Year pair of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the upcoming film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya directed by debutant Shashank Khaitan for producer Karan Johar.

The Heropanti lead star cast of Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon are coming again together for another film for producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha whose Holiday released this week, also form repeat value as do Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Filmmakers hope to encash the brand value time and again, but sometimes, things don’t go according to plan.
