Bollywood heroines are new action heroes: Sonakshi, Priyanka, Sunny...

After working with Sonakshi Sinha in the film Holiday, director AR Murugadoss seems so impressed with his heroine Sonakshi Sinha that he wants to cast her now in an action film which will be woman oriented and will challenge Sonakshi’s fitness levels too to the hilt.Known a lot for his action films,  Murugadoss’next film is a woman oriented one.

Murgadoss wants Sonakshi to thus be the hero of the film and the actress will now have to kill not with her looks but with her action as well. But then the actress will not be the only actress in recent times who will have to fight for her bread and butter.

The girl who had set a billion hearts aflutter two decades ago when she won the Miss World title - Aishwarya Rai is set for action after becoming a yummy mummy.

Her return to cinema will be through Sanjay Gupta’s film Jazbaa in which she has some hardcore action moves. Hollywood stunt director Spiro Razatos who had earlier worked with Gupta in the multistarrer Kaante has been entrusted the responsibility of directing the action in the film.

For Aishwarya Rai, action is not really a new genre and she had earlier worked with Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 2.

After her wedding Rani Mukerji’s first release will be the film Mardaani. In director  Pradeep Sarkar’s film Mardaani, Rani will be seen in the role of a tough police officer.

And she has done a lot of action for the film losing over ten kilograms of fat from her not so slim figure.

Joining the band of Powerpuff girls is Priyanka Chopra who has worked out and made herself a lot fitter. And this is for the film which is a biopic on Olympic boxer Mary Kom. This Sanjay Leela Bhansali produced film is being helmed by debutant Omung Kumar. For Priyanka action of this sort is not new as well because she has done some stunts in both Drona as well as Don.

Bang Bang will see Katrina Kaif doing a lot of action as well.  In the Hindi remake of the Hollywood film Knight And Day Hrithik Roshan plays the lead and will be joined in all sorts of action by Kaif in this action comedy spy drama directed by Siddharth Raj Anand.

After Ragini MMS 2 Sunny Leone is waiting her sex comedy Mastizaade. But before that she will be burning fat and doing action along with Karishma Tanna in the Devang Dholakia directed Tina And Lolo. “Doing action is a challenge, we are flying over cars and so many things,” says the actress.

Madhuri Dixit turned action diva with Gulab Gang.  Juhi Chawla joined her in the act. After Krrish 3, Kangna Ranaut was seen in another action avatar in Revolver Rani.  These actresses are surely in for a lot of action, but then the training that precedes the action also takes a lot out of these starlets.

Let’s hope they still retain the grace for which a lot of their fans want to see them.
