Bollywood's 'so tweet': Deepika, Ranveer follow Saif, Kareena

Celebs who closely guard their personal life and remain tight-lipped about their affairs are now ignoring their own ground rules and using social media to highlight their romances.

Whether it’s the newly-wedded Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor cooking up a romantic meal at home, or the alleged new-lovers-on-the-block Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh partying it up in Dubai, they are all tweeting their love escapades to the world.

Interestingly , the celebs’ exclusive, intimate pictures and posts aren’t generated from their own twitter handles but by those that claim to be from their fan clubs.

Talk about innovative celeb marketing or well-informed fan clubs, it is turning out to be the most efficient way to spread the news, or should we say, love!

Apart from the celebs, those benefiting from this publicity strategy are the media houses, who can safely stop stalking celebs and shoo away the paparazzis, because all they need to do is access twitter.

When Saif and Kareena tied the knot last year, the media was kept away from the wedding ceremonies, but a certain fan base on twitter started posting exclusive images of the blushing bride and groom, and even images of their wedding party.

For something so closely guarded, it did appear strange how such images ever made it to the social media.

And, it didn’t end there.

After their wedding, a series of images of Kareena toiling in the kitchen were released. It was almost like they were announcing how their fairytale romance was still alive.

The Indian media soon fed off these feeds, and the images went viral.

“Kareena knows way to man's heart is through his stomach, turns chef for Saif,” headlined India Today magazine.

Now, this is the strategy that the new, rumoured B-town couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are adopting. They've skipped the media round-up for some cozy time on twitter.

Images of the two cuddling up on their secret Dubai date made headlines in every known publication.

Despite the telling images, the two declined that they are dating.

Talking to the Indian media, Deepika said, “He (Ranveer) makes me laugh a lot. He makes me feel special. That's it. If I'm in a relationship, I'll talk about it.”

He responded on similar lines, with claims of being attracted to her. “I am not dating her,” he proclaimed.

Twitter, however, paints a different reality.

The social media is slowly turning into a platform that stars are tweaking to their benefit.

And, that exactly why Priyanka Chopra decided to broadcast some of her conversations with her alleged lover Shah Rukh Khan on twitter. And this, after reports of a supposed cold-war between her and his wife Gauri.

“Thank u @iamsrk..ur belief has always kept me going,” she wrote. And he, “All the best @priyankachopra for TMK. Working so can't make it to Premier. Will catch it later if i can get tickets! It'll be huge InshaAllah.”

The twitter revelations don’t end with just matters of the heart. Even, baby showers, celeb coffee dates, and birthday bashes get publicised.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan might've wanted to keep her daughter Aaradhya’s first birthday strictly private, but her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan tweeted images of the celebration, with the message; “With her parents on her 1st ... love to all.”

He also posted another image of the little girl with her dad, stating; “Aaradhya on her 1st birthday with her Father ... thank you all for the blessings and love.”

Some, like SRK, even tweet their love for their kids.

"Lethal shoes! My little girl said its cool to make a statement with them... 'I'll nail you with my shoes'," tweeted Shah Rukh, after posting an image of a studded shoe his girl Suhana picked.

It’s also a great platform for lesser-known celebs who tweet to stay in the news.

One-time actress Esha Deol posted her honeymoon pictures, tweeting; "My birthday night with hubby BT vertigo Bangkok ;) super food must try!!!!!!"

There are also those like item girl Poonam Pandey who incessantly tweets and scandalises the social media. And, some like Vivek Oberoi and Neha Dhupia who ensures we are aware of their every move.

Even facebook doubles up as a perfect platform to feature their newborns, and new girlfriends.

Aamir’s fan base on facebook uploaded an image of him and his son, while another non-descript Bollywood fan club posted John Abraham’s car ride with his fiancé Priya Runchal.

Surely, celebs can sack their publicity managers now. What they do need is access to twitter.
