Bollywood stars choose to marry in secret over 'big-fat weddings'

A lot of stars wish to keep their wedding days limited to their near and dear ones and go for an intimate ceremony, rather than opting for a public ceremony under the glare of media and all the hoopla surrounding it.

However, a lot of starlings opt for a public wedding in order to attract all the media attention that they can for their 2-minute glory.

This year, the Bollywood fans might get to miss watching a lot of their favourite heart-throbs tying the knot as they prefer to opt for a low-key affair.

Kareena-Saif

The media has been waiting for many years for Saif to make an honest woman of Kareena. Finally, Safi's mom Sharmila Tagore has gone on record and confirmed her son's second wedding plans. The couple are to wed on October 16 and it will be only for very close family and a few friends (?) at Pataudi, followed by a dazzling reception in Mumbai for all their starry friends. The low-key weddding is to respect the recent passing away of Saif's father, Tiger Pataudi.

Rani-Aditya

Rani Mukherjee's relationship with Aditya Chopra is an open secret in Bollywood. Their much-awaited wedding would be a low-key affair given the amount of newsprint already spent on their affair. Chopra had to pay a huge alimony to his childhood sweetheart and first wife Payal, who till recently was the apple of Yash Raj's eyes. The family staunchly supported Payal ever since Aditya got involved with Rani in his extra marital affair. However, Rani has been seen bonding with the Chopra's since last Diwali. She even flew down to London to spend some quality time with Aditya and the rest of the Chopra family around the new year. Wedding bells will ring soon but very few might get to witness the actual ceremony.

Priya-John

When John Abraham was involved with Bipasha Basu, they hardly ever behaved coyly with the media, but after their much-publicised breakup, John has decided to go in the private mode. He has definite marriage plans with beau Priya Runchal, who is an investment banker. However, John says that he will marry her without letting anyone know. "It will be a very quiet thing. When I marry, nobody will know about it", the actor has been known to tell all and sundry. He wants only his close friends and family members to witness his wedding with Priya.

Diya-Sahil

Dia Mirza is also all set to tie the knot with Sahil Sangha early next year. However she too wants an "intimate wedding, surrounded by the people I wouldn’t want to get married without,”. She had to postpone her wedding due to prior work commitments.

Soha-Kunal

Bollywood might witness yet another Pataudi wedding after Saif ties the knot. Saif's youngest sister and an actress Soha Ali Khan is all ready to wed Kunal Khemu. The duo have been dating for a long time. Their wedding too could be a low-key affair.
