Just like good Indian wives who are very dedicated to their family, some Bollywood celebrities have taken a short term break to look after their new family.

In order to spend some quality time with their spouses or family members some actresses have taken a sabbatical. But the glitz and glamour of the B-town soon brought them back to limelight.

We give you a list of stars from the female clan who have re-entered the Golden screen’s mania:

Aishwariya Rai: Topping the charts of the comeback list is Aishwariya. As soon as father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan broke the news to the media about her pregnancy, rumours followed that Miss World beauty has stepped out of Bollywood producer Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’. He even called her unprofessional as she did not reveal about her pregnancy before shoot started,

However, Aishwariya has always been in the news for playing hide and seek by keeping daughter Aaradhya from the prying eyes of the world.

But fans need not worry as the yummy mummy may soon work with ace director Karan Johar’s 1982 remake ‘Bemisaal’.

Kajol: Known for her bubbly and carefree nature, Kajol Devgn also went on a sabbatical after marrying actor Ajay Devgn. Critics were astonished at this wedding decision as Kajol’s career was at its peak. Although initially she had declared that she would not stop acting, she went on a five year sabbatical. During this time she suffered a miscarriage and then gave birth to their first child Nysa.

She was later seen in the 2006 release ‘Fanaa’ where she was paired opposite Bollywood’s perfectionist Aamir Khan.  Kajol also delivered a blockbluster with Shah Rukh Khan 'My Name is Khan'.

Madhuri Dixit: After a 5-year long break from the industry after her wedding with Dr Sriram Madhav Nene, Bollywood beauty Madhuri re-entered with ‘Aaja Nachle’ in 2007. Before going on a sabbatical she was seen in 2002 release ‘Devdas’ which was a super hit.

Meanwhile, she resided with hubby in the US for about a decade during which she gave birth to two sons. She has now shifted back to Mumbai and was last seen as judge on a Television reality dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’.

She is set to make her comeback in 'Gulab Gang'.

Karisma Kapoor: Sizzling hot Karisma Kapoor made a rather cold comeback after taking an 8-year long sabbatical from the industry. The movie ‘Dangerous Ishq’ with which she set afoot, did not get her much leverage in the industry.

She is currently working on a remake of Amitabh starrer ‘Satte pe Satta’ where she will be seen opposite Bollywoods Munna Bhai – Sanjay Dutt.

Sridevi:  Regarded as one of the most popular actresses in the Indian cinema, Sridevi had taken voluntary retirement from the industry for 15 years.

But she could not stay away from the limelight and finally made a grand comeback with latest release ‘English Vinglish’. She has been critically acclaimed for her acting and many appreciated her for the choice of film for a comeback.
