Meanwhile, the entire Bachchan family has made elaborate plans for what will be Aaradhya's first Diwali on November 13, just three days prior to her completing her first year on November 16. The Bachchans seem to be in full swing with preparations this year.

Amitabh has ordered hundreds of paper lanterns to adorn their villa in Mumbai from a manufacturer in Pune.

The months of October and November seem to be a time for special celebration in the Bachchan household. It all started with Amitabh's 70th birthday bash on October 10 and 11, followed by Aishwarya's birthday and honour from the French government.

Now, it is little Aaradhya's turn with Diwali and her upcoming birthday.

Aaradhya receives polio drops

Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan believes in practising what he preaches. He recently took his almost one-year-old granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan for polio vaccination just a week before she turns one.

"Two drops of the polio vaccine to Aaradhya... overseen by government officials. Just so it is put on record. To practice what I preach," Amitabh tweeted.

Polio is a disease that affects the child's limbs and the vaccination drops safeguard small children against the dreaded disease.

The 70-year-old actor has been actively campaigning for India's polio eradication campaign for years now.
