Aishwarya’s stunning new pic shows why Miss India hopefuls fail at Miss World

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had a new picture from her latest jewellery campaign put out.

Ironically, it was on the day India came close to winning Miss World 2012 – but fell short.

Despite all the brouhaha about Ash’s post-baby weight, it was a reminder that India has yet to find a Miss World like Ms Bachchan.

Miss India World 2012 Vanya Mishra was in the final seven of the Miss World pageant at Ordos, a mining town in China's Inner Mongolia.

Chinese entrant Wen Xia Yu walked away with the crown, while Wales's Sophie Moulds was first runner-up and the second runner-up position went to Jessica Kahawaty of Australia.

Mishra won two titles - the Multimedia Award that measured contestants' social networking skills and Beauty with A Purpose, an award for special dedication to a charitable project or cause.

However, when it comes to the title of Most Beautiful Woman in the World, mommy Ash, as these pics show, still rules.
