Ranbir Kapoor during a visit to a mall in Dubai (Emirates 24l7)
Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and the ever-gorgeous Priyanka Chopra have a massive fan following in Dubai no doubt, but their recent visit to a mall proved a tad dull compared to the euphoria we witnessed during the beefy Salman Khan’s recent trip.
While Salman’s five-minute stop-over at the Dubai mall created a near stampede, the Kapoor lad’s trip to Arabian Centre was devoid of any such untoward incidents. The crowd was smaller and more controlled.
The wait, however, was just as long and tiresome. The crowd started building up as early as 5pm, as the ‘Barfi’ stars were said to reach the mall at 6.30pm.
The stars finally arrived at a little after 8pm, did their customary “we love Dubai” screams, waved to the crowds, shook hands with a lucky few and were off.
“I have been here for three hours, and I’m not even a fan of either Ranbir Kapoor or Priyanka Chopra,” claimed a disgruntled Imran, who was merely accompanying his sister who is a huge Ranbir fan. “It’s a waste of time, but I’m doing this only for my sister.”
There were many others, like Imran, who had waited patiently for 2-3 hours, just to catch a glimpse of the stars.
“I’ve been waiting for three hours just to see Ranbir,” beamed Shezhan.
Although only a handful of fans got to actually interact with the stars, the rest were happy to just watch them from far. “I would’ve loved to meet him, but even seeing him this close is enough for me,” added another Ranbir fan. “It was worth the wait.”
