Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 46th birthday in Mumbai on Wednesday amid family and fans. On the ocassion, he spoke about various subjects...from his world promotional tour of Ra.One, birthday gifts and family to how hard the other Khans in the industry work.

“I have been in this industry for almost 20 years now so the question of returning to Bollywood doesn’t arise, ‘Badshah toh Badshah hi rahega’ (a king will always be a king). I have been living in Bandra for a long time now, and have just returned from a long journey from around the world, where I enjoyed with my fans as they all loved ‘Ra.One’.

My film (‘Ra.One’) has been in news because its returns at the box-office are whopping, in crores. The film has also received raving comments on twitter. For me what matters the most is that ‘Ra.One’ is the most talked about film of my life. This film has definitely made a difference as far as technicality in Bollywood is concerned. In the end, the fans, audiences, critics and who’s who from the industry, and even those outside the industry are talking about my film.

I have done my job sincerely and I am happy that now after returning from my long international trip, I will get ample of time to sleep. I am also fond of bathing for longer hours which I can now. And at the moment a sequel to ‘Ra.One’ is not on my mind.

I want to wish good luck to my peers in the film industry because we have to work very hard in Bollywood. I feel Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and others too have worked very hard on their films and have done well. I do not believe in any comparisons as such. I have tried to bring Hollywood into my films by some way or the other but I have no plans of being a part of Hollywood. My Indian films are excellent and I want the international filmmakers to know and crave for Bollywood films more and more.

When I got up on my birthday, at about 12.30 noon, I was impatiently waiting to unwrap gifts from my family and near and dear ones which were kept all around my bedside. As a kid I never got expensive gifts from my parents because we were middle class people and they could not afford those. Once they had given me a pendant which had some precious godly words written inside it. This pendant is very close to my heart. I always cry remembering that pendant. Also, I love to take my kids on the ‘mazaar’ of my parents and thank them for giving me this life.

My kids have made a lovely poster for me in which they have written, ‘You are the best papa. We do not need any angels as our papa is the best and gives whatever we need. Your film ‘Ra.One’ will break all records because you have worked very hard without sleeping for days together. We are proud that our papa is hard working and sincere… Many happy returns of the day.’
