Arbaaz Khan's SUV crushes woman to death

Bollywood celebrity and Salman Khan's younger brother, Arbaaz Khan's car was involved in an accident in which a woman was crushed to death around midnight in Mumbai's posh locality Bandra.

The actor-turned-producer was not in the car, a Land Cruiser, when the accident occured and the witnesses claim that the speeding SUV ran over the woman but did not stop, reports NDTV. The SUV was being driven by Salman's other brother Sohail Khan's driver, Dhananjaya Pimpale.

The accident happened at around 11 pm on Sunday night near the St Andrews Church as the car was on its way to Arbaaz' residence nearby. The driver has already pleaded guilty and confirmed that the accident occurred when he lost control while trying to take a turn and the woman appeared from nowhere.

Passers by took the fatally injured woman to a nearby hospital where no one attended to her for about half an hour. The woman was aged around 60-65 years. The Land Cruiser driver has been arrested by Mumbai police. He has been charged with rash driving and a homicide investigation is on.

This is not the first time that Salman's family is facing a case of rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

In 2002, Salman was involved in a rash driving case after he allegedly rammed his SUV into a bakery in the early hours of September 28, 2002 killing one person and injuring four others who were sleeping on the footpath outside the shop.
