Bhansali threw Kareena out of 'Ram Leela'

Published

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Ram Leela' seems to be grabbing a lot of media space in recent times.

Yesterday, different versions were doing the rounds of various media reports on why Kareena Kapoor is no longer the 'Leela' in 'Ram Leela'. Some other reports claimed that Kareena has been replaced by her arch rival Priyanka Chopra.

No one was absolutely sure on why Kareena let go of the plum project, despite a report in The Times of India claiming that the 'Heroine' had walked off because of date and money issues.

Today, another news website, Mumbai Mirror, claims that Bhansali has broken his silence and said that the role that Kareena had to play can only be played by an unmarried woman. And far from walking out, Bhansali had shown Kareena the door as she had not warned him ahead about her wedding plans.

If the above are true, then obviously Bhansali and Kareena did not part in the best of circumstances and that would partly explain the acrimonious quotes to the media from various PR machineries.

It is interesting that this is the third time that Kareena has walked out of a Bhansali film. She had earlier ditched her roles in 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' and 'Devdas' both of which went on to give Aishwarya Rai the biggest hits of her career.

So, can we assume, even before ram Leela gets to the floors, that this film will also do to Priyanka's career what the others did to Aishwarya's?
