Khan sandwich for Akshay: Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman corner 'Khiladi'

With all three Khans – Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir –bulldozing their way for box-office glory, it does appear that Akshay Kumar has been left a raw deal.

After Shah Rukh Khan hogged the box-office with ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, Aamir Khan stepped in to grab the spotlight with ‘Talaash’, and within the next three weeks Salman Khan will reclaim his clout with ‘Dabangg2’.

And sandwiched between the three Khans is Akshay, whose ‘Khiladi 786’ releases just a week after ‘Talaash’ and two weeks before ‘Dabangg2’.

For any actor it reads “doomsday”.

But, an optimistic Akki is going ahead with his movie and hoping that the two-week gap between Salman’s epic cop drama might just help him scrap through unscathed.

Despite a super-successful ‘Rowdy Rathore’, Akshay’s second release in 2012, ‘Joker’ failed to create any buzz at the box-office.

So, he’s hoping to regain some of his lost glory with ‘Khiladi 786’, which is touted as the longest-running movie franchise in Bollywood.

“Nobody wants to collide with an Aamir Khan film,” confessed Akshay during an interview with an Indian TV channel.

While SRK’s ‘JTHJ’ has already recorded great business with the movie entering the Rs100crore club, Aamir’s ‘Talaash’ is also doing well, inching towards a place in the elitist club.

Akshay had recently admitted to an Indian daily that although no actor wants to clash at the box-office, such situations are unavoidable because of the sheer number of movies being made in India.

Even though his peer Ajay Devgn had earlier stepped out to accuse Yash Raj productions of hogging majority of the movie screens for ‘JTHJ’ leaving his ‘Son of Sardar’ with little visibility, Akshay insisted that he didn’t face any similar situations for ‘Khiladi 786’.

With two back-to-back blockbusters - ‘Housefull2’ and ‘Bol Bachchan’ - in her kitty, Asin’s hoping to hit a hat-trick with this Akshay movie.

And, it does look like Akshay’s hoping (Asin) lady luck favours him this time.
