Those who know Shah Rukh Khan will vouch that the actor never shies away from a celebration, especially on his birthday.

However, due to the tragic and untimely death of Khan’s father figure and mentor, director Yash Chopra, close aides are saying that the actor was keen on cancelling all celebrations, but on the insistence of Aditya Chopra, has agreed upon a low-key affair across two days.

On the actual day itself, November 2, the soon-to-be 47 years old actor will have the doors of his palatial mansion, Mannat, open for well-wishers, which would probably include close friend Karan Johar and possibly even Farah Khan.

Others report that the actor will also take the opportunity to play the soundtrack of

“Jab Tak Hai Jaan” outside his home for fans, and at the same time publicise his film, which releases November 13.

Meanwhile, fans across India are flying to Mumbai for the big day, with Times of India reporting that the All Kerala Shah Rukh Khan Fans’ Association will celebrate with the star himself.

“For the last 17 years SRK’s blockbuster flick “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge” is being screened at a theatre in Maratha Mandir Marg in Mumbai…

“So, this year, on his birthday, we'll go to the theatre, cut the birthday cake along with his other fan club members and theatre owner, distribute sweets and flowers and watch the noon show together,” Mujeeb, president of the association’s Kerala chapter was quoted as saying.

Also, the association has been invited to Khan’s home on November 3 to celebrate the occasion with him.
