Salman, Akshay & Abhishek to clash this summer

Brace yourself as summer is here with vengeance and there are only few things you could do to cool yourself from this blistering sun.

One thing that will guarantee you relief is staying indoors and getting entertained with a dose of Bollywood movies.

Your platter will be full of suspense, romance, action, drama and comedy - you name it and Bollywood has it all this summer. 

Here's a list of top five anticipated hits from Bollywood this summer:

Rowdy Rathore

Star cast: Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha

Genre: Action thriller

Release date: June 1

Plot: The story is about a small conman who charms every ladies heart in a blink. He falls in love with a pretty girl whom he met at a wedding he wasn’t invited to.

Into this picture perfect world enters six year old Neha who inexplicably believes Shiva to be her father. And if this wasn’t bad enough, Shiva also becomes the object of a series of life threatening attacks by a gang of deadly criminals who seem to know something he doesn’t.

This movie will mark the return of Akshay Kumar in the action genre after seven years.

Akshay is set to roll again and the lady who is killing it with him is none other than earthy beauty Sonakshi Sinha.

Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar are paired together for the first time in this Prabhu Deva directorial debut.

'Rowdy Rathore' is a remake of the Telugu film 'Vikramarkudu'.

Plot: In a bustling Indian city gearing up for the latest celebrated political elections, 4 individuals find themselves tied up into a gruesome game of crime and politics.

A young activist encounters a shocking and disturbing road accident which leaves a prominent political figure in critical condition.

A lone girl on the street believes it to be a murder. A porn filmmaker claims to have documented proof that will bring the government down. A high ranking bureaucrat is brought in by the government for damage control. 

The movie is based on a book titled Z by Vassilis Vassilikos, which itself was adapted into the famous Academy Award-winning film Z, directed by Costa-Gavras.

The buzz has already been created among the people as to what this film has stored for the audience and therefore the excitement bar has also risen.

  

Bol Bachchan

Star cast: Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan, Asin Thottumkal, Prachi Desai

Director: Rohit Shetty

Produced: Ajay Devgn/Dhillin Mehta

Genre: Comedy

Release date: July 6


Plot: It is inspired by the 1979 comic flick, Gol Maal. Abhishek Bachchan is expected to play the role of Ram Prasad, essayed by Amol Palekar in the original and Ajay Devgn will be seen as Bhawani Shankar (Utpal Dutt). 

Rohit Shetty is making sure that he gets yet another huge entertainer and a box office winner rolling in the form of 'Bol Bachchan'.

The film arrives close on the heels of 'Singham' which has turned into a massive success for both him as well as Ajay Devgn.

With a terrific success rate over the years Rohit is sure to bring another blockbuster for his fans.

 

Barfi!

Star cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Ileana D'Cruz

Genre: Romance/Comedy

Plot: Barfi! is the story of three young people who learn that love can neither be defined nor contained by society's norms of normal and abnormal.

Ranbir Kapoor plays Murphy, a happy-go-lucky deaf-mute person while Priyanka Chopra plays the role of an autistic girl in the film.

Ileana D'Cruz plays the narrator of the film.

'Barfi!' will be Ranbir's first movie after his hit 'Rockstar'.

His fans have been eagerly waiting for his next offing. The anticipation has been heightened with him being paired with Priyanka Chopra.

The two incidentally had something going on while filmming 'Anjaana Anjaani'.

 

Ek Tha Tiger

Genre: Romance/Thriller

Release date: August 17

Plot: A college scientist is suspected of selling missile technology secrets to Pakistan. The Indian government sends a secret agent, code named Tiger to find out about the professor's activities.

Tiger falls in love with the professor's caretaker Zoya and together they embark on a roller-coaster journey.

Salman Khan, who was in hibernation for last few months, has not just resumed interaction on social networking but is also getting set to begin promotion of his much awaited film 'Ek Tha Tiger'.

After giving four consecutive hits Salman is ready for another blockbuster this Eid.

Eid falls on Monday, August 20 and this would give 'Ek Tha Tiger' a huge six day long weekend, which is going to be a first for any Bollywood film.

Expect massive box office records to be created for the film.
